There are over 2000 mystical limestone cliffs in the Ha Long Bay area. Many rise from the water and others remain tucked away inland. The Karst limestone of the region came about by a unique process of erosion over thousands of years creating rock formations unlike anywhere in the world. As a result, rock climbing in Vietnam (Ha Long Bay) is comparable to diving at the Great Barrier Reef – it’s a match made in heaven.
